New Lifeproof case on the way . . .
I got an email response to my Lifeproof busted blog from the folks at Lifeproof and it said everything I wanted to hear:
"It is hard to know exactly how this happened unless we examined the case ourselves but a possible explanation is what you would call "pneumatic hammer". A drop of the case flat on the rear surface could force a burst of air through the earpiece vent. The air is trying to get through the vent so quickly that is causes it to break. This is only a theory though.
"We will be happy to send you a replacement front case to resolve your issue. You will receive an email once it ships along with pre-paid postage to send your current one back once you receive your new one."
So Lifeproof is sending me a new cover before they get the old one and gave me as much information as they had. That's plenty awesome for me.
Quick reply, no accusational "what were you doing blah blah blah . . . . ".
Hopefully once I send mine back I'll help to improve the product. It's the kind of thing that happens when you take a risk with a new product and one I'm happy to accept as long as the company is appreciative.
That is all
Lifeproof busted :-( No more waterproof
Since I first enjoyed the benefits of my Lifeproof case by taking my iPhone 4 with me in the shower (see the blog here) I am sad to report that the diapraghm that protects the speaker has torn.
The photos are the only clues I have of what happened. I have not been particularly gentle with my Lifeproof but I haven't kept it in my pocket with my keys either.
I'm sharing this post with the folks at Lifeproof and will keep you updated.
Adding multiple gmail calendars to your iPhone Calendar
Multiple CalDAV Calendars
It’s possible to sync secondary calendars from Google (i.e. those that are not the “main” calendar). This is simple, but you need a special ID similar to the ICS URL. Go back to you calendar settings page where the Private Address is listed. Above there is a section labeled Calendar Address. To the very right is a Calendar ID. Copy this ID into an email and compose a URL like the following:
- https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/ [ your Google Calendar ID ] /user
This URL is different than what the Google Calendar Help page suggests. Email this URL to yourself, copy it, then paste it into the “Server” field from above. The rest of the settings should copy itself into the Advanced Settings.
